Your details are used to run your course, and nothing else.
- We do not sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to list brokers, not to anyone.
- This website collects almost nothing. No account, no forms, no analytics and no cookies of its own.
- Checkout happens on Selfany. They take your payment and handle your card details. We never see your card number.
- Marketing emails are opt-out, any time. One click in any email, or just ask us.
- You can ask to see, fix or delete your data. Email us and we will reply within 30 days.
Who we are
LAE Studio ("we", "us") runs this website and sells The Social Blueprint, an online course for business owners. For the information described in this policy, we are the "data controller" under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). That means we decide why and how your information is used, and we are responsible for looking after it.
The easiest way to reach us about anything here is elyon@thelaestudio.com.
What we collect and why
We only collect information in three situations: when you visit this page, when you buy the course, and when you contact us. This table covers all of it.
| What | When | Why we use it | Our legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic visit data (IP address, browser, device, pages requested) |
You load this page. Our hosting provider records it automatically in server logs. | Keeping the site running, fixing errors and blocking abuse. | Legitimate interests |
| Your name, email and purchase details | You enrol through Selfany. We receive what Selfany shares with course creators. | Giving you access to the course and community, support, receipts, and honouring the 14-day guarantee. | Contract |
| Your name and email, for marketing | You are a customer or you tell us you want updates. | Emails about the course, new material and offers. Never anything unrelated. | Consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Your messages to us | You email us or write to us for support. | Replying to you and remembering what we agreed. | Legitimate interests, or contract if you are a customer |
| Payment and tax records | A purchase or refund is made. | Bookkeeping, tax and other legal duties. | Legal obligation |
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not build profiles of you.
Payments and Selfany
Every "Enrol" button on this page takes you to selfany.com, a separate website run by Selfany Solutions Limited in the United Kingdom. You enter your name, email and payment details there, not here.
Selfany is responsible for the information you give it, including your card or bank details, and it uses its own payment partners to process them. We never see or store your full card number. Once you leave this page, Selfany's privacy policy applies to what happens on their site.
Who else sees your data
We share information only with the services we need to run the course. Each of these has its own obligations and its own privacy policy.
- Selfany and its payment partners, for checkout and course delivery.
- Our hosting provider, which serves this website and keeps standard server logs.
- Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces on this page. Your browser requests them from Google, so Google receives your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
- Our email and community tools, used to write to you and to run the private community that comes with the course.
- Accountants, advisers or authorities, only where we have a legal duty to or need advice to meet one.
We never sell or rent your information. We share it with no one for their own marketing.
Outside Nigeria. Selfany is based in the UK and its partners operate internationally, so your information may be processed in other countries. Their policies describe how they protect it. We apply the same rights and standards to everyone, wherever you live.
Cookies and tracking
This page does not set cookies, and it does not run analytics, advertising pixels or session recording. Some of that may change, for example if we start running Instagram ads and want to measure them.
If it does, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent before any non-essential tracking starts. Once you are on Selfany's site, its own cookie practices apply.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we have a real reason to. Then we delete it or anonymise it.
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Customer details (name, email, what you bought) | While you have access to the course, plus the period below for financial records. |
| Payment and tax records | 6 years, to meet accounting and tax obligations. |
| Marketing emails | Until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop, then we remove you from the list. |
| Support messages | Up to 24 months after our last exchange. |
| Server logs | Kept by our hosting provider for a short rolling period, typically 30 days or less. |
Keeping it safe
We limit who can see customer information, use reputable services that encrypt data in transit, and collect as little as we can so there is less to protect. No system is perfectly secure, but the responsibility for protecting what we hold is ours.
If a breach puts your rights at real risk, we will tell you promptly and explain what happened and what to do. Where the law requires it, we will also notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within 72 hours.
Your rights
Under the NDPA, you can do all of the following. Email us and we will act on it within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, so we do not hand your data to the wrong person.
To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any message. You do not need to give a reason.
Children
The Social Blueprint is made for business owners and is not aimed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, such as adding tracking or a new place your data goes, we will also email customers before it takes effect. We do not treat you as having agreed to a new policy just because you kept browsing.
Contact and complaints
A real person reads this inbox. Include the email address you used to enrol so we can find your records.
Email us →If we have not resolved your concern, you have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng or info@ndpc.gov.ng. If you live in the UK or European Economic Area, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
